  43.        SpeedShop.

  45.        If you are installing this product for the first time, the
  46.        subsystems marked with the letter ``D'' as ``default'' are
  47.        the ones that are installed if you use the ``go'' menu item.
  48.        To install a different set of subsystems, use the
  49.        ``install,'' ``remove,'' ``keep,'' and ``step'' commands in
  50.        _i_n_s_t to customize the list of subsystems to be installed,
  51.        then select the ``go'' menu item.

  53.        Note:  The listed subsystem sizes are approximate. Refer to
  54.               the _I_R_I_S _S_o_f_t_w_a_r_e _I_n_s_t_a_l_l_a_t_i_o_n _G_u_i_d_e for information

  90.        All of the subsystems for SpeedShop can be installed using
  91.        IRIX.  You do not need to use the miniroot. Refer to the
  92.        _I_R_I_S _S_o_f_t_w_a_r_e _I_n_s_t_a_l_l_a_t_i_o_n _G_u_i_d_e for complete installation
  93.        instructions.

  96.        2.4  _P_r_e_r_e_q_u_i_s_i_t_e_s

  98.        SpeedShop has the following prerequisites:

  100.           +o You must be running release IRIX 6.2, or later to use
  101.             this product.
  102.  
  103.           +o Since performance experiments are performed on
  104.             executables that you build, you should have the MIPSpro
  105.             Compilers, release 7.2, or later installed.
  106.  
  107.           +o On IRIX 6.2, you should install patch 2777 (kernel
  108.             rollup) and patches 1404, 1645, 2000, 2420 and 2824
  109.             (POSIX and pthreads library).
  110.  
  111.           +o On IRIX 6.3, you should install patch 2801 (kernel
  112.             rollup), patch 1645 (POSIX header files) and patch 2420
  113.             (pthreads library).

  115.           +o On IRIX 6.4, you should install patch 2536 (kernel
  116.             rollup), patch 2420 (pthreads library), patch 2194
  117.             (IRIX development environment updates) and patch 2835
